Resident Evil Photoshoot Part Duex

What is this? A second Resident Evil photoshoot?

Why yes....Yes it is my friends. I wanted to redo the Resident Evil photoshoot from last year. Was there something wrong with the other shoot you ask? No, not really. I just wished I could have gotten more photos. The last photoshoot we did we didn't spend much time exploring the location. Which is what I would like to do this time!

And this time, I want to be the photographer.

Now for when the shoot will be, it depends. It could either be early spring, or early fall. Here are the pros and cons of shooting in either weather:

Early Spring:

Pros:
- It'll be warm
- There still wont be too much in the way of 'greenery', i.e.- plants will still be somewhat dead to add that erie isolated atmosphere.
- There are no festivals going on in the early spring; at least none that I know of
- It'll still be too early for 'tourists' to be swarming to the location
- We could have a nice spring picinic afterwards if it doesn't get too late
- The sun sets later during the spring, so it'll give us plenty of time to have a relaxed shoot

Cons:
- It's quite early to ask anyone who doesn't have a completed costume
- Plant life might start blooming by the time we have the shoot. Which isn't too bad, but the whole place is supposed to look 'dead'.
- There might be spring festivals going on. But I can always call ahead of time for a schedule.
- When the weather gets warmer, people start to come out of their homes. So it might get a little swamped in warmer weather.

Early Fall:

Pros:
- The fall always holds beautiful vibrate colors which show up awesome on film.
- With the colder weather setting in, most people don't want to go outside
- Plant life will start to die and add an erie tone to the atmosphere
- This will give people plenty of time to think of what character they would like to do, and to get a costume ready.

Cons:
- It might be a little colder, but that's what sweaters and jackets are for
- They hold fall festivals at the park, but again, I can get a schedule to see when they're being held.
- The sun sets earlier in the fall, so we'd have to get there early

So these are the options; if you're interested in going, please let me know what you think!! I will work this shoot around everyone's schedules. For those of you who went to the last shoot, you'll know there will be tons of food, beverages, possibly some alcohol (Thanks to Chris, hahaha), and a place to sleep if you come over the night before.

If you do come over the night before, we will have the entire house to ourselves! Like last time, I encourage everyone to bring their own video games, movies, etc. And this time I will NOT hide in my bedroom trying to fix a half assed Ada dress before the shoot. XDD I promise this shoot will be 20x more fun then the last one!! So please please please, if you are willing to come please come!!

Also, WE NEED ZOMBIES!!!! Last shoot was fun and all, but we only had two Ganados, which didn't even get used in most photos U__U. One being my dad of all people, lol XDD So if you have any friends who would like to be zombies, PLEASE invite them!! I want more then just two zombies for this shoot!!

Resident Evil Photoshoot

This is one of the many many photoshoots I would like to do. My best friend Matt (Neospike) was kind enough to let me take photos of him in his Wesker outfit at Katsucon.

Quick story: This photoshoot took place at Katsucon 13 on Sunday. I actually stumbled upon this location the day before while on my Selene photoshoot with Deathcom. We accidently found it while searching for a quicker way to get back into the hotel from outside in the courtyard. We wanted to take photos, but it was time for the masq and he needed to be there to film it.

On Sunday, Matt and I were waiting for Biku and Danii to come back from the Dealer's room, so to take a quick break from the busy con, as well as get some fresh air, we walked out to the courtyard. I looked to see if the location I saw the day before was still unlocked, and to my suprise it was. When I asked Matt if I could take photos, he happily agreed, and this is the end result! I hope you enjoy them :D

So here is the first set of photos. I hope you enjoy them, and I'm still learning how to use my new camera, and sadly I did not get to use my tripod for these...so some may seem a little grainy since I had to turn the ISO up pretty high since it was a very very dark location XD

This photo was fun, I actually took my boots off and placed them behind the fan to make it look like he had killed someone XP And oddly enough, the floor was stained, and I never realized it until I uploaded the photo...So it looks like there's blood haha :

OH MY FUCKING GOD 0__0

Look at the absolutely glorious corset Matt got me...There...is no possible way I could ever repay him...I mean seriously...just look how fucking amazing it is. And it's made of real leather... I just...I'm speechless.

Also, and in even more great news, thank you so much Carrie!!! I got your card today in the mail, and it really suprised me...And it actually made my cry, because it was so unbelievably sweet, and it was the last thing I was expecting. My family sends their love to you as well!! *lots of hugs and love to you too* Again, thank you so much for the wonderful card, it cheered me up SO much :D

I have a question for all of you in internet land...Does anyone want to be in a photoshoot?

As of lately I've gotten so obsessed with photography...well...I've always been obsessed with photography, modeling, and fashion. But I've never done anything about it. So far I have about 3 or 4 people who want to do photoshoots with me, so that's good. And it could be of anything as well. It could be cosplay, out of costume, anything. If you've had any ideas as of lately and would like to do them, I would love to take photos of you :)

The only concern is as of lately my schedule has been super tight, but I would work around your schedule. And say if I had a shoot in mind near my house I would reimberse you if you had to travel etc. I just got a new camera, which is very very nice... After the shoot, I would give the model(s) a CD of all the photos taken that day; And possibly other things as well as a thank you for giving me your time.

Now I don't have much in the way to show you my work. I've been extremely busy and have not had time to go all out and take thousands of photos...But here is what I can show you:

I just wanted to say thank you to the people who read my last post and were there to comfort me.

As of lately, I've been overwhelmingly busy, and this year started off horrible. I'm rarely on the computer, yes, I leave it on...But most of the time I'm always out either working, or filming. For those of you who may not know, I work 6 days a week. And the rare chance I get a day off I'm filming Venus Rises. That's not the problem really...

For those of you who may not know, yesterday morning at 5:14am, my beloved grandmother passed away. She spent a week and a half living her last days with us in a hospital bed. She was in a lot of pain; both her lungs were punctured, and the cancer had spread throughout her entire body. I didn't get to see her that much due to the fact I had been working so much, and when I wasn't working I was filming. But I did take off a few days before she went, and got to spend time with her. Though it was extremely difficult, because the last few days I did spend with her, she was so drugged up she couldn't even speak.

After she died yesterday morning, I walked in the room and saw her laying there, she looked so peaceful just like she was sleeping. I panicked though, because this was the first time I had even seen a human die...She was my second mother; she raised me for the first few years of my life while my mom and dad worked two jobs to support the family. I loved her so god damn much, and I felt like I had died when I lost her.

On top of that, I have to go into surgery for my cancer ASAP, and I just found out my mother has a brain tumor. And to make matters worse, the tumor is on a very sensitive part of the brain, and if they were to operate it could leave her mentally challenged. Now the icing on the cake is the fact that now I may have to get a restraining order on Manny because he's a fucking psycho. Picture this...You've broken up with your significant other; and the reason why you ask? Because they were clingly, whiny, selfish, egotistical, would go into jealous rages if you talked to another male (even if they were a close friend), controlled you, and tried to mold you into something they wanted you to be. Ok, now after imagining that, imagine you're blissfully sleeping in your nice warm bed, far away in la la land dreaming of marshmellow clouds and furry bunnies...And the next second you awake to your dog psychotically barking and growling. You open your eyes to see your ex, sitting on the far end of the bed, just staring at you with a cold hard stare that screams "If you so much as move too fast I'm going to stab you" look. Then, after being scared shittless, I got up and said "what the hell are you doing in my house?!" And as he just sits there, staring and smiling psychotically, my father tries coming in the room to see what all the comotion was about. And to my suprise, Manny had locked the door on my father, who in the end ended up almost breaking down my door...

So as you can see, I haven't had much time or energy to be online or do anything...I feel bad I've lost contact with a lot of you, and I know I sounded bitter in my last post. But to be honest, I am turning bitter because my life is being engulfed by negativity...And the other night I thought I had a true friend who could be there for me, talk to me, and I could open up to. But they just didn't seem to care or want to even hear it. I felt betrayed, and that's why I wrote what I did...Even a simple "I'm sorry to hear that" would have helped, but I didn't even get that, all I got was a cold shoulder.

I write this with tears in my eyes right now, but for anyone I have ever hurt, or ever made feel lonely...I am SO sorry.... I know Scott wont read this, and Sarah you might...But I am SO sorry for the pain I caused you two, I'm so sorry to Scott for all the horrible negative things I said to him. I'm sorry to Lori for ever bashing you way back at Otakon with the whole Luis incident... I mean, that was years and years and years ago, but you're a good person, you really are. And I'm so sorry for ever saying a negative thing about you; we were so young... And I'm sorry to Jesse for never talking to him, even though you've made thousands of attempts just to see how I've been doing. And to Biku and Danii, I love you two SO much like my own sisters, and I feel bad because I wish I would visit you more and involve myself in yours lives more. And to David Ng, I'm so sorry I don't talk to you more often, you're such a fantastic friend...Even if we were to just hang out one day and go out to eat or something would make me so happy. I always felt bad the only time I ever saw you was for a photoshoot -- I never want you to think that's the only time I want to see you.

You all have been very sweet to me, and with my grandmother's passing I've realized how special life is. And I've also realized it doesn't matter what happens in your life; because as long as you have your friends to be there for you, well, that's all you'll ever need to be happy.

So I want to start directing short films. And no...I don't mean crappy little home movie type films with bad actors and crappy cameras. I want to put 110% into them. Anyone want to help me? I'm saving all the money I can right now for a really good camera and possibly a mic. And I want to direct, I don't want to act in it...But if anyone would like to help, aka pitching ideas, if you want to act in them, or even help out cash wise, please do help.

This isn't going to be some shotty little side project, like I really REALLY want to try my hand at directing. Even if it's a short film no longer then 5 minutes. I'd rather have a brilliant and amazing short film that's only 5 minutes long, then a crappy drawn out boring full length film.

I have it all planned out in my head, I just need to get it on paper, and eventually get it on film, then into the editing room. If anyone were to help out, I wouldn't be able to pay you...But I would be able to supply you with food, shelter, and if you did any commuting, I could pay you back for gas and tolls etc. It'd be a very limited budget, but it has to get out there. I'm tired of always coming up with great ideas, then letting them collect dust on the shelf. If anyone were to help out with story ideas etc. You'd get the copyright to it, I would never claim it...actors/actresses would get exposure, and in the end everyone will benefit from it.

The world of photographers and artists alike is coming to an end. Layers upon layers, upon piles and piles of the legal mumbo-jumbo, of copyright infringements, and he said she said gossip. Under it all lies the fact that artists are no longer free to express themselves.

As an artist/photographer for 21 years, I find this ludicrous.

Example 1:

- Photographer A has never been to New York City. In awe of the architecture and the intriguing atmosphere of the variety of people, they take a photograph of the scenery. Now, technically speaking, to post this photo on the internet, to reproduce it for any means, to sell it, or to even show it; said photographer would need to get model release forms from every person who had their photo taken. For any car that happened to be in the photograph, the photographer would need to get written consent from the cooperations who have created each car. For all the clothes people are wearing, well, those are copyrighted logos as well, aren't they?

Example 2:

-Photographer B is taking a walk in a park. They come to a beautiful subject, say a tree, flower, landscape, etc. and take a photograph of it. Photographer C lives in the same area, goes to the same park, but does not know anything about Photographer B. Without that knowledge, Photographer C stumbles upon the same subject Photographer B took a photo of. They then proceed to take the same photo as the other, even though slightly different looking; it is still the same concept. Proud of their work, Photographer C publishes their photo online, and Photographer B finds out, and claims copyright infringement.

Basically what I am saying is, to me, copyright infringement laws are a joke. Now, don't get me wrong -- I can understand things like identity theft, or if someone takes a photograph/drawing/song/ etc, prints it out, sells it, and claims it's theirs, then yes. Sue them, for that is against the law. But to ban, delete, erase, and scold artists for being inspired by another’s work is an atrocious and foolish act. Why am I ranting like this you may ask? Because of the drama going on over at deviantArt. Everyone who is close to me, and knows me really well, knows I never shout my opinion. I stay away from drama like the plague, because I do not like to get involved in petty drama. But this, this my friends is a different story. For this is going against the rights of all artists, and I cannot stand to let this happen, they cannot deny the rights of freedom of speech, and they cannot deny the freedom to express ones self.

Whatever happened to being flattered when an artist was inspired by another artist? Isn’t that the point of art? To inspire, to grow, to express ones self; How would we produce masterpieces that aren’t based on a real subject? What of still life paintings, what of photographs of nature, even fan art? Will they ban cameras, pens, pencils, paper? What’s next…Do we need to walk around naked because of logos on clothes and products? This world has gotten so money hungry, people are suing people for suing them… If you yourself is careless, and happen to hurt yourself by tripping on another persons step, you can sue them! Should I sue my own mother, just because of the fact she has the same last name as me?

This world is utterly ridiculous.

Resident Evil Photoshoot Update:

I talked to the director and told him I couldn't film on the 22nd of October. Which means I have the day off, so that means the photoshoot is still on. Problem is, I'm more then likely filming that saturday. So I need to know who's coming up the night before, and whether you're driving, taking the bus, or the train. This way I know when to leave on Saturday to pick anyone up, and/or meet anyone. Normally filming gets done at around 4:30 - 5, though it may vary whether we're filming a fight scene etc.

So the photoshoot is still deffinetly on for October 22nd. So please, I need to know when everyone is coming a.s.a.p, and a round about time they'd be arriving.

Resident Evil Photoshooty Updatey Goodness:

Ok so I thought I'd ask anyone going to the photoshoot a quick question -- Since we're all going to be in a really kickass location, and since we have a lot of awesome characters who will be there, is anyone interested in doing a little short film spoof on the series?

Now this, of course, does not mean a full length thing, or even a 5 minute thing. Just some really funny clips I could put together to make a short movie. And yes, I know we're going for a photoshoot, so this is also just in case we have some time left over, or in between. It should be really fun, and seems like a cute idea ^^ I have a program, not Windows Movie Maker, that allows me to edit clips and what not -- I bought it a while ago when I had to make a movie for a school project XD it was a lot of money, and I'd really like to put it to some good use as well lmao

So if you're for it, leave a comment! Remember, it all depends on how many people would like to do it, and if time allows it... I've already talked to a lot of people going, and they seem to want to do it as well!!

Also!! I almost forgot to mention! If you want to bring your own camera, or a personal photographer feel free to! So far we have David Ng as our main photographer, and I believe CHris said he wanted one of his friend to come as a photographer as well. Just remember, my house is somewhat tiny -- no two stories, just one -- so sleeping space is somewhat limited unless you don't mind sleeping on the floor. But I do have a ridiculous amount of blankets, pillows, comforters, and even a blow up matress haha XDDD Which also reminds me, if you have any friends or know anyone who would like to tag along and be a zombie PLEASE invite them!! I want some zombie action going on in le photoshoot, lol XDD

Ooh yea before I forget:

Is anyone coming by train or bus? Because if you are, yes I will pick you up as well as drive you back to the station ^^ so no worries about that! Also, does anyone have any entertainment ideas for the people coming down the night before? I have an XBOX360, but I only have the new Tomb Raider game for that, does anyone own the game Dead Rising? That looks like so much fun!! Though I may be getting it soon... I also have a PS2, so if anyone has any games they would like to bring feel free to! As well as any DVDs, music, or other goodies to bring.

OOH!! Also, anyone have a preference for snacks? I'm going to go food shopping the day before, is anyone allergic to anything specific? If you could, you don't have to now but it'd be nice, make a list of what you'd like me to get :P I just want this all out of the way now so that when the time comes I'm not running around in circles lol! That and I don't know about you guys, but I'm so excited for this photoshoot!!! :D

Anyways, about the RE shoot! I talked to Dave, and he said the best days for him to come and do a photoshoot are the 22nd (being a Sunday) and the 28th (being a Saturday).

These are really the only days he can do this, the 21st which is a Saturday is his mom's birthday (Awww...hehe), so that's why it would have to be on a Sunday. I was thinking that the shoot can be October 22nd, and just incase it rains or the weather acts up, a rain date for the 28th of October.

How does this sound? Please let me know what you think! Remember, anyone coming from a long distance can come over my house the morning, day, or night before the shoot and spend the night!

Quick update on the Resident Evil Photoshoot:

So yes, I spoke with our photographer, David Ng. He said he's still on for the shoot, but I have to wait to hear when he'll be able to make it -- he has a trip coming up that month, so he'll give me the dates and we can work around it.

David was also kind enough to give me some hints and tips on organizing the photoshoot, and I'm getting closer and closer to a specific date and time. One thing we need to take into concideration is the fact it will be October, which means it gets darker sooner. I know most of you wanted the shoot to be later on in the evening/dusk. But the problem with that is:

1.) Lighting can be an issue

2.) There's a lot of you, and dusk doesn't stay around forever. So in order to get everyone's photo(s), we'd need to start early

3.) The park closes at dusk -- but I'm going to see if I can get a hold of the rangers for permission to stay later, just in case the shoot goes past dusk

4.) Again, it's October, so it'll be chilly, and the later it gets, the colder it will get. Remember to bring sweatshirts and what not, especially the girls and/or zombies that may not have long sleeves etc.

5.) It takes a half hour to an hour to get to the location. Also keep in mind, everyone needs to get ready at my house, which means sharing mirrors etc. Also, when we get to the park, it's huge, so there will be a lot of walking around looking for locations, and we need to give a good amount of time for Dave to set things up properly.

So with that out of the way, I'm not trying to say we need to be nazi's and wake up at the crack of dawn...I'm just trying to get all of this down and out of my head, so that I can come back to it and read it later. If anything, the shoot will be no earlier then maybe 1 or 2pm, I'm deffinetly not a morning person myself, but I'm sure we could all wake up a little early for this :P

I'm sure the shoot itself wont take long, but I want to make sure that noone is left out! I figure it'll be fun to get group shots, individuals, pairings, and funny photos. I know Jesse wanted to come as Shaun from 'Shaun of the Dead', so I thought that would make for some interesting cross-over photos :P

Thank you all for helping me out with all of this -- I've never organized a photoshoot or done anything like this before, and my organizational skills are like, a -5 lmao...so this is quite interesting XD

Resident Evil Photoshoot:

Ok, I've come up with a list of questions for the people who want to participate. Anyone who wants to go HAS to respond to this entry, I've made two posts so far asking for people to post when they'd want to go -- but the number of responses is getting smaller and smaller, and it really makes me think if I should do this or not.

There's going to be a special guest coming to the shoot with us. I've talked about him before, his name is Manny. He was apart of the Capcom team back when they did Resident Evil: 4. He did the motion capturing, and is actually going back soon to do a new game! Nothing is 100% positive that he can make this, but he's very excited to meet you all and see what cosplay is all about.

So yes, on to the questions. Now remember, if you want to go to this, you have to fill this out. It's not hard, and will only take a few minutes, and if you don't know for sure on anything, you can leave it blank, give an estimate, guess, or just add your two cents.

1.) It will obviously be on a weekend. Which day is best for you; Saturday or Sunday? I'm thinking of having the people who are coming a long distance stay the night, so keep this in mind as well -- the people who would want to stay the night, would be coming over the late evening or night before. Or whenever they wanted to.

2.) What time would you like the shoot to be at? I know some people are busy and need to get home, so would early morning or afternoon be best? Also, keep in mind we'd have to leave early to get to the location -- it's about a half hour to an hour to get there depending on traffic. And if there are any zombies in the group it may take a while to do makeup, get into costume, etc.

3.) How will you be getting here? Are you driving, taking the bus or train? If you want to bring a weapon for your character i.e. a gun or knife, bringing them on a train or bus is not too much a good idea -- the last thing I want to hear is someone getting in trouble! I have a bunch of guns at my house, here is what I have:

- 1 Black 9mm
- 2 Uzis
- 1 Desert Eagle (black and silver)
- 2 USPs (black and silver)
- 1 S.T.A.R.S beretta (Blow back -- Rebecca Chambers gun)

So yes, I have a few guns (I wish I had more...XP ) if anyone needs to borrow them.

4.) When would you want the shoot? I've decided to do it sometime in October. I've been told that there is an anime convention early in the month, and obviously I wouldn't be doing it on Halloween. If you even know the specific dates you are open, or think might be good, let me know!

5.) Do you want to be a zombie, or a charatcer from the game? I need to know how many people want to be zombies, and what kind of latex scars, bites, wounds, etc. they would want. This way I can start working on the latex now and get that out of the way. If you are going as a character, please state which character you are going as, as well as which version i.e. - Claire, Code Veronica X, or, Leon, Resident Evil 2 RPD outfit. This is mainly out of curiosity, and to get a general idea of what needs to be taken into consideration for the shoot. For example, Wesker is not going to be buddy buddy with Chris Redfield, etc.

6.) If you don't want to come as a zombie or character from the game, feel free to make up your own character! Role play, it's so much fun! Also remember the other games like Outbreak, Survivor, as well as the movies! Be creative if you want, have a back story even! You can use anything as a weapon for photos too so they know you're a character, anything like a steel pipe, butcher knife, a gun...the list goes on, I'm actually thinking about doing this, just to be creative and to have fun with it!

7.) If you have any questions, please ask, I'm willing to answer them the best I can :)

Now that that is out of the way, if I don't get a certian number of people to respond, then I'm not doing the shoot. I don't want to take the time out to make a ton of latex wounds, zombie costumes, and buy supplies, set stuff up, and most of all get excited about seeing my friends...and then the last minute everyone backs out on me. I hope I don't sound mean in saying that, but I figured since I'm running this, I need to be strict in getting things done and staying organized. I was never exactly born as a leader, so all of this is new to me, lol XD

It'd be easier if you respond to this specific post, rather then e-mailing me or IMing me, because then I lose count. Here it's all neat, and I have it right in front of me.

I know I said I was going to stop cosplaying, but I was talking to Biku and Danii-chan...And I decided that I wasn't going to let cancer take control of my life. Thus, I came up with this:

Calling all Resident Evil Cosplayers!!

If you want to be apart of a photoshoot I'm trying to get together, then please respond! I'm currently trying to get up a big group of Resident Evil cosplayers to go on a photoshoot at Batsto, New Jersey. This weekend I'm going to go take some photos of the place, if people seem to be interested, to show you how freakin awesome and perfect this location is! This is all just an idea, if I get enough people interested, and no one backs down at the last second then I believe this can work! Here are some of the details:

- I figure everyone going on the shoot can stay at my place; I'll supply food, showering goodness, a place to sleep, and tons of fun :P

- Character wise, it doesn't matter which game or which version you are cosplaying. I.E. - You could be Claire from Resident Evil 2, Code Veronica, or a hidden costume from CV:X etc...it doesn't matter. If you want to get creative, you could even come as a zombie or an enemy!

- Now I'm not promising, but I can certianly try; I can try and supply people with some gas/toll money. It all depends on my current situation; I have to pay bills and insurance now, so it sucks muchly :( but for the people coming from a long distance I can deffinetly try to help you out.

- Also, I'm thinking of having the shoot around fall. Why you ask? This way it'll make the scenery look even creepier; the leaves will be dying and falling off the trees, and there will be less tourists (the place is a state park). Ooh, here's some info about the place:

          - It has a giant mansion
          - It has it's own giant lake
          - There are a ton of creepy long paths set back in the woods
          - There are a ton of abandoned old houses (it's an entire abandoned town)
          - It has a giant saw mill, along with other awesome things
          - It's FREE, haha XD

- Another thing: If anyone would like to come as a zombie, that'd be awesome. You wouldn't have to worry about the makeup, fake blood, and/or latex wounds, that's all on me. I can do the make up and everything for you. As long as you can supply an outfit you don't mind getting bloody, torn up, etc. Then feel free to bring it!

So yes, back on track... I still need to find a photographer etc. to do this...remember this is just an idea. If you really want to be apart of it, and would love to help out, please let me know!!

I'm very excited about this. I haven't cosplayed in quite a long time, and I haven't seen any of you in an even longer time :( This would really make me happy if, even a small group, could get together and just have fun. I figure after the shoot we could also have a little picinic of some sort.

If anyone has any fun games, feel free to bring them as well; I have a PS2 and XBOX360...so if you want to bring a game to play while staying at my house feel free! The more entertainment the more fun it will be. Better yet, feel free to bring any animes/movies/games etc. that you think will be fun for everyone. Teehee, I suppose it's kind of like a little party as well :D

    - It doesn't matter how many Leons' or Claires' there are, the more the merrier! hehe

   - Anyone who doesn't know which character to be can always come as a zombie! If you want to come as a zombie, don't worry about the makeup/latex wounds/etc. I'll do all of that for you;

      just try to find an outfit you don't mind getting torn up and dirty, that's all you need to worry about!

    - The fantastic ngmaster said he wouldn't mind being the photographer for the shoot!
